Below is a breakdown of the stages:
Stage 1: Vigo – Redondela (16 km). The route starts in Vigo and runs along the estuary, offering sea views as you walk towards Redondela. It is an easy stage that can be completed in about 4 hours.
Stage 2: Redondela – Pontevedra (18 km). This stage takes you through beautiful coastal landscapes, passing through the town of Arcade, famous for its oysters, and the iconic Pontesampaio Bridge, before arriving in the city of Pontevedra.
Stage 3: Pontevedra – Caldas de Reis (23 km). The route moves away from the coast and into forests and rural areas, with more varied terrain until reaching Caldas de Reis, known for its thermal waters.
Stage 4: Caldas de Reis – Padrón (19 km). The route continues through the Galician interior, with paths surrounded by nature until reaching Padrón, a town of great importance on the Camino and famous for its peppers.
Stage 5: Padrón – Santiago de Compostela (25 km). The final stage is the longest, but also the most exciting, as the pilgrim approaches the final destination. The journey culminates at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
