SUPPORT US THIS GIVING TUESDAY!!
Information
Dear Cherished Friends,
We have been truly blessed and are living this Jubilee Year of Hope with great excitement. We have been encouraged by both Pope Francis and Pope Leo to remember that “Christian hope does not disappoint because it is grounded in the certainty that nothing and no one may ever separate us from God’s love”. This call to share God’s love with others, supporting marriages, youth, and faith initiatives within the Church, is a call we all share, and take very seriously here in Michigan.
Change is a constant in the mission field. The Legionaries of Christ community added four new priests this summer!
- Fr. Stephen Ellis is the new superior of the community, after serving Regnum Christi members in North Carolina. He now serves on the Everest school board and as chaplain for International Medical Missions.
- Fr. Terrance Allen returned home to Michigan to serve as the ECYD Director, growing our youth programs. He is also supporting as chaplain at Everest and St Thomas More Academy.
- Fr. Christopher Gronotte joined Everest as chaplain, serving families and mentoring middle school boys and the international program.
- Fr. Benjamin O’Loughlin has returned to Detroit after seven years on various assignments in the US and Mexico. He oversees Regnum Christi localities throughout the US and Canada in his current role as RC Locality Representative.
Our other priests continue to impact lives with their ministries:
- Fr. Jason Brooks expanded the Healing Ministry in many parishes and with new events across Michigan and beyond, witnessing many rewarding blessings of interior and physical healings along the way. He also serves as chaplain for That Man Is You. Fr. Thomas Salazar guides families, young adults, parents and alumni in their faith journey as chaplain of Everest. Fr. Juan Sabadell and Fr. Thanh Nguyen minister to Regnum Christi and many other men and women, especially in the Spanish community, leading missions, healing retreats, deliverance, and offering personal and marriage counseling.
The Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi continue to reach more souls, and your support has been instrumental in our success. Your past contributions have transformed our home, enabling us to engage more with youth, young adults, women, education, archdiocesan initiatives, and local Regnum Christi apostolates. We are also excited to welcome Regnum Christi Missionaries (former ‘coworkers’) for the first time in many years, to support us in our youth work, expanding our evangelization efforts with their own youthful passion for Christ. We are remarkably busy in the mission field.
- Lisa Small serves as the Regnum Christi Locality Director coordinating the RC apostolates and ministries in Michigan while she continues her work as the Detroit community director and communication director for the Consecrated Women in North America.
- Jennifer Ristine, our newest member, has brought a wealth of experience in formation, teaching, and spiritual direction that has already greatly strengthened our women’s section. She is also teaching online for Divine Mercy University (VA) in their Spiritual Direction program, and is visiting Benedictine College (KS) regularly to offer spiritual direction for college students where they are choosing how best to contribute to society.
- Regina Doyle, Rose Wieber, and Elizabeth Stromberg continue to guide young women, missionaries, teens, and children in their walk with Christ through Everest, ECYD, and Young Adult apostolates. A highlight this past year was starting a second girls camp this summer, which is opening new doors to start more ECYD clubs around the area.
- Mariana Ortega accompanies the Spanish-speaking community and continues to reach more and more women through small group studies, retreats and giving many spiritual directions.
- Yvonne Fontaine, now our community administrator, continues her work with the Healing Ministry having completed her studies with the Encounter School of Ministry.
Both our homes have become vibrant centers for retreats, spiritual direction, adoration, events, and outreach. Together with you, we are reaching thousands across Southeast Michigan and beyond with the joy and peace of Christ and we continue to support and equip lay men and women in their evangelization efforts.
Because we receive no financial support from the Archdiocese of Detroit, nor our national offices, your donations are critical to us. We invite you to prayerfully consider a year-end gift. Whether it is $1000, $500, $250, $100, or a recurring gift, every donation broadens our reach and magnifies our impact.
We have two channels for giving:
- Write a check to LC Pastoral Services, Inc. and/or Consecrated Women, Inc. and mail the checks to the Legionary address (2460 Opdyke Road, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, 48304).
- Donate online using the links below for gifts by credit card or eCheck.
